And every time somebody mentions the Whiffenpoofs I die a little inside because I can never forget the night I performed with them as a fourteen year old girl at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, China.
Yeah the Warblers are based off the Yale Whiffenpoofs.
Darren said his vocal coach was a Whiffenpoof.
I shared a dressing room with the a capella group that the Warblers are based off. Well, we weren’t on at the same time so my tour group chilled in the dressing room while we secretly perved on them getting changed into their sexy tuxes. They are quite a good-looking group of men.
When they performed I was completely awed and inspired. When we met them I was super starstruck because they were such fantastic musicians and honestly not much older than my tour group, I was one of the very youngest. It was such a honour being in the same line-up as such accomplished musicians (We were also with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music Jazz Band, what a cheeky bunch of bastards but we bonded with them because they were the only other Aussies on the tour… There were also groups from other Ivy-league schools and I did not feel worthy AT ALL.)
Okay I’m going to stop rambling now. It was just an amazing experience and I feel like it’s the closest I’ll ever get to a connection with The Warblers/Darren.
